specialist services

we can provide the following services ourselves or in conjunction with our 'select' partners.

Noise Surveys

Are your employees being exposed to excessive noise? The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 requires every employer to carry out a noise risk assessment where any employee is likely to be exposed to noise at or above the lower exposure action, which is 80dB(A). Our professional noise assessments will determine your legal obligations and accurately report on your noise levels. In addition, our consultants will provide pragmatic advice on how to best protect your staff and others, and comply with the legislation.

Vibration/ HAVS Assessments

Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) is vibration transmitted into your hands and arms from using hand held power tools (such as grinders) or hand guided equipment (such as powered pallet trucks). Regular or frequent exposure can lead to permanent ill health and cause hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and/or carpel tunnel syndrome. Our survey will assess vibration exposure using the latest instrumentation.

Asbestos Surveys

Employees at work can be exposed to a wide variety of hazardous substances which can cause ill health when inhaled. Workplace monitoring surveys are designed to help employers fulfil their obligations under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (as amended). In addition, the measurement of airborne contaminants will assess personal workplace exposure and verify the effectiveness of the control measures.

Dust/ Gas Monitoring

Workplace monitoring surveys are designed to help employers fulfil their obligations under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (as amended). DSEAR Assessments

It is a requirement that all work premises undertake a risk assessment covering processes that may involve the use of materials that could cause a risk of harm to employees from fire, explosion or energetic releases. This covers flammable gases, solvents, vapours, dusts, incompatible chemicals and self-heating (spontaneous ignition). We are able to arrange for a specialist consultant to support you with the risk assessment process to help you comply with the DSEAR / ATEX.

Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA)

You must have a dangerous goods safety advise if you transport dangerous goods. (The DGSA is not required when goods are handled or carried at or below specified limited quantities or where the main or secondary activity is not the handling or carriage of dangerous goods). Our specialist team of qualified DGSA’s can provide the solution to all your dangerous goods management requirements including DGSA Training and Advice. Please contact us for more details.
