A short video on the benefits of the NEBOSH Diploma
The NEBOSH National Diploma is the qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals, building directly upon the foundation of knowledge provided by the NEBOSH National General Certificate. It is designed to provide students with the expertise required to undertake a career as a safety and health practitioner and also provides a sound basis for progression to postgraduate study.
The qualification is divided into four units, each of which is assessed separately:
Unit A: Managing health and safety
Unit B: Hazardous agents in the workplace
Unit C: Workplace and work equipment safety
Unit D: Application of health and safety theory and practice
Students may choose to take individual units in any order over a five year period and will be awarded a unit certificate for each unit passed.
There no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however achievement of the National General Certificate or direct equivalent prior to undertaking the Diploma course is highly recommended.
Units A, B and C are each assessed by a three-hour written examination. Candidate scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH. Examinations are held in January and July and can be taken at a number of venues throughout the UK and Internationally. Unit D is a workplace-based assignment requiring application of learning across the syllabus, and is submitted following the examinations.
The recommended study time for the Course is 468 hours of learning and research, and although we do not stipulate over what period that the delegate studies for the course we recommend that a delegate takes a minimum of 18 months to study and take all 4 Units.
Plus attendance on Examination days.
