Our eLearning course is a safe alternative to traditional classroom based learning.

We have a couple of options available to our elearning; 

NG eLearning – access to the eLearning system including comprehensive NEBOSH notes and exercises.

NG eLearning ‘ENHANCED’  – as above, but includes a 1.5 hour tutor led (Open Book Exam and Risk Assessment) preparation session prior to booking your exams.

Who should attend?

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is aimed at those with health and safety responsibilities (eg. managers, supervisors and employee representatives) to enable them to discharge more effectively their organisational duties and functions. The NEBOSH National General Certificate is one of the most recognised qualifications in the health and safety profession.

Course Content

The course provides a solid foundation in health and safety, covering 11 modules comprising.

NGC1 – Management of Health & Safety

Element 1 – Why we should manage workplace health & safety

Element 2 – How H&S Management systems work & what they look like

Element 3 – Managing Risk – Understanding people & processes

Element 4 – Health and Safety Monitoring and Measuring

NGC2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards

Element 5 – Physical and Psychological Health

Element 6 – Musculoskeletal Health

Element 7 – Chemical and Biological Agents

Element 8 – General Workplace Issues

Element 9 – Work Equipment

Element 10 – Fire

Element 11 –  Electricity

Certification

The course is assessed by

  • NG1 OBE – a formal written Open Book Exam (OBE) which must be completed within 24 hours of release (4hrs work), and
  • NG2 Risk Assessment – Practical report (4hrs work) to be completed and submitted by the candidate after the course

Duration

The qualification involves a 129 hours of learning study and preparation (although this figure will depend upon experience).

What will I gain from this Qualification?

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety provides you with a broad foundation of occupational Health & Safety. It is one of the most recognised health & safety qualifications in the world. You will not only gain  knowledge but also the skills required to manage health & safety effectively in your workplace. Also as the most desired qualification by employers this qualification offers you career progression. Furthermore this qualification is ideal if you are looking for a career in health & safety. Additionally the qualification also meets the academic requirements for Technical membership ( TechIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health.

How long will it take?

The flexibility of the qualifications allows you to complete it in a time period to suit you as the candidate. With 12 months access to the system, the syllabus takes between 6 – 8 months to complete, although completion time depends on you. The recommended study hours are 108 hours

What are the entry requirments?

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, It is important that you have a  suitable understanding of the the English language. So that you are able to understand the syllabus and apply your learnt knowledge to the workplace. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Does the qualification expire?

Once you have successfully completed both examinations and earned the qualification, it will never expire. However, health & safety is a field which constantly evolving and changing with the law. Together with updates, best practises and standards. In other words you will need to keep your knowledge of risk management and healthy & safety up to date. In order to maintain a high level of competence. NEBOSH recommend enrolling on a course to refresh your knowledge every few years. To see what has changed.

What kind of support will I receive?

On enrolment you will be given access to our eLearning platform. Which is made up of various presentations, question and answer sections, activities and projects. Throughout your studies you will be supported by our highly experienced team. Who will be your main contact for enquires during your studies. They will also contact you thought out your course to determine your progress and help you stay on track. Support is also available via a variety of media, such as telephone and email, so that you can be assured someone is there to assist you should the need arise.
