Health & Safety for Managers​

Health and Safety training and instruction is an essential aspect of any organisation’s business strategy; to prevent accidents, to maintain a healthy workforce and, to comply with an organisations legal obligations.

The aim of this course is to provide managers with an understanding of the principles of health & safety risk management. This course provides you and your managers with the knowledge to make a difference in your workplace and to contribute to the process of reducing loss to the business through injuries, ill-health and damage incidents.

Health & Safety Awareness for Employees​

Health and Safety training and instruction is an essential aspect of any organisation’s business strategy; to prevent accidents, to maintain a healthy workforce and, to comply with an organisations legal obligations. This course is aimed at providing employees with a basic understanding of their obligations with regards to health and safety and to enable them to contribute to the health and safety culture within the organisation.

Risk Assessment training

We are all exposed to a range of health and safety hazards and risks during our working day. By providing risk assessment training, employees will be better equiped to assess these risks and evaluate the organisations controls. When risks are correctly assessed, workplace accidents may be reduced. This course will provide information on how to identify hazards and risks and also how to conduct workplace risk assessments. The course includes a practical session on completing a risk assessment, so that staff are familiar on how to complete a ‘suitable and sufficient’ assessment.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos can be found in many materials and cause potentially fatal illnesses. Our Asbestos course aims to provide your employees with information about the hazards and risks associated with asbestos and why asbestos can be a serious health hazard. By completing the course they will be able to identify the different types of Asbestos, be familiar with their uses and identify effective control measures to prevent or minimise exposure.

Manual Handling training

Manual Handling is one of the largest causes of accidents in the workplace. By understanding how to lift correctly you could help your employees avoid serious injury. The aim of this course is to provide your employees with guidance on the correct lifting procedure and also give some handy hints on the do’s and don’ts of manual handling.

Manual Handling Train-the-trainer

Manual Handling is one of the largest causes of accidents in the workplace. By understanding how to lift correctly you could help your employees avoid serious injury. This 2 day course provides your managers with the skills to deliver a manual handling training session to your employees.

Fire awareness

Every workplace is at the risk of a fire starting, but are your employees aware of how to prevent fires, and what to do in the event of a fire emergency at work. This course is essential for all employees.

Fire Warden/ Fire Marshal training

Every workplace is at the risk of a fire starting, but are your employees aware of how to prevent fires, and what to do in the event of a fire emergency at work. This course is designed for those people who have responsibility to aid the evacuation of persons in the event of a fire.

DSEAR awareness

It is a requirement that all work premises undertake a risk assessment covering processes that may involve the use of materials that could cause a risk of harm to employees from fire, explosion or energetic releases. This covers flammable gases, solvents, vapours, dusts, incompatible chemicals and self-heating (spontaneous ignition). We are able to arrange for a specialist consultant to support you with the risk assessment process to help you comply with the DSEAR / ATEX.

Management of Work-relates Stress (Awareness)

Work-related Stress can have a massive impact on individual employees in addition to the sickness absence rates of the business. This course is designed to provide awareness to managers of the issues that could cause Work-related Stress and some of the measures managers can implement to control it.

CDM Awareness

The CDM Awareness course outlines the main requirements of the regulations and duty holder responsibilities, the Client, the Principal Designer and the Principal Contractor. The course can be tailored to suit the specific roles of the delegates in respect the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

When the Inspector Calls

A visit from the HSE or LA (enforcing authority) can be very daunting due to the legal implications. The course is designed to give your staff an understanding of the powers of the inspectors and the appropriate action to take during the visit.

COSHH/ Chemical Safety

There are a wide range of chemicals and other hazardous substances used within every workplace, often used without thought or consideration of the health implications. This course is aimed at all those employees who work with or come across hazardous substances at work. It is designed to get employees to consider their work activities, all the chemicals they use during their work, the risks to themselves and others from these substances and the controls which can help reduce these risks.

Management of Contractors (H&S)

More and more clients are entering into relationships with contractors (or are acting in a contractor capacity). The HSE are looking to ensure the effective management of these relationships. The course is aimed at supervisors who need a greater understanding of their legal duties and responsibilities when managing contractors

Working at Height

This course is aimed at anyone who undertakes work at height, or who employs people who regularly work at height. This course covers topics including the dangers of working at height, the regulations, the hierarchy of controls, assessing risk and much more.
